    ARTIST DAVID K. STONE
    This is an exquisite
    Limited Edition Western Lithograph Print
    "Wagons West"
    Signed & Numbered
    by famous
    American Artist David K. Stone
    (1922-2001).
    In
    "Wagons West"
, the artist captures the true spirit of the
    American pioneers
who bravely and relentlessly traveled west to begin their lives anew. And this despite great hardships and dangers along the way!
Mr. Stone presents this difficult journey showing pioneers' real life, their normal, necessary, everyday chores as they circle their wagons for protection on this night. Real people, real situations, real duties. Even children. The common needs of all complete this real scene. One Western Art collector said:
    "
This is the most meaningful picture of the Way West
that I have ever seen and felt
    ."
    Mr. Stone
was a famous, highly-respected American Illustrator/Artist. He served as president of the 700-member Society of Illustrators (1967-1968) and on the Board of the Graphic Artists Guild. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, received Mr. Stone's research files that
    "he assembled
…as a research tool for his own artwork, which included illustration, graphic art, murals and other genres in the narrative tradition.
    "
(Ask Art). Wind River Studios on its website has photographs of many of Mr. Stone
's works including paintings of all U.S. Presidents George Washington through Bill Clinton.
Born in Oregon, David Stone earned his B.A. Degree from the University of Oregon. He did graduate work in Los Angeles and in Mexico. He then headed for New York City
    "
where he worked, mentored young artists—whether fellow members of the Society of Illustrators or aspiring high school and college art students - and worked more than 20 years on his monumental series Pioneers of Flight - more than 120 paintings.
    " (ibid.).
Mr. Stone's works are included in such
    permanent collections
as the Smithsonian Institution, Princeton University, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Department of the Interior, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Postal Service, the National Air and Space Administration, the International Aerospace Hall of Fame, and more, including many other public, corporate, and private collections.
