    Description

Frederic Remington Wood Block Engraving Print  Drawn by R.F. Zogbaum
"THE OLD BONE MAN OF THE PLAINS"
THIS PRINT WAS STORED FOR MANY YEARS AND HAS A SLIGHT MUSTY SMELL.  I THINK IT WILL GO AWAY WITH TIME
    Matting size: 15¼" x19"
    Print size:      12¼" x 16¼"
When Harpers Weekly Publication first started recieving illustrations from Frederic Remington they would send them to their own art department to get redrawn. R.F. Zogbaum was the house artist who was assigned to redraw Remingtons' work. They did the same thing to Winslow Homer when he first started. I hope Freddy was getting paid a lot of money.
In those days the practice was looked upon in the same light as a publisher assigning an editor to polish a book.
