A token for the US early warning radar base in Thule Greenland. I believe the radar structure on the coin matches the structure that was created in 1959. The coin is very lite at 1.02 grams and it has a diameter of 25mm. It has been coated in a brown/bronze paint. It is either made out of plastic or aluminum. The front inscription is "Thule Greenland Radar Base" and the back inscription is "New Coins of the World". Due to the back inscription, I have to think this is a play coin? Whatever the origins, the coin is pretty interesting and rare. I see two examples that sold a few years ago, but those listings were also light on details. The period radar installation is the only clue I can think of for dating the coin. I would guess late 1950's, early 1960's? Previous auctions mentioned 1944, but that seems highly unlikely to me...
