With a medicine man as his grandfather, John grew up listening to stories
and Dine mythology and as an artist has drawn on those memories as well
as his own inspiration. He has won awards from the Santa Fe Indian Market
among other places. His works can be found in galleries.
His characteristic messenger is the Yei Be Chei, an ethereal messenger
to the Dine.
The Dine associate particular colors with the four directions:
yellow-the west, white-the east, turquoise-the south, and black-the north.
