    Description

This spectacular, statement-size platter is part of a line of serving pieces (“Western Ware”) that feature the historic early photos of L.A. Huffman, a noted recorder of the emerging Western scene. Born in Iowa in 1854, Huffman created most of his images in the Montana area where he eventually made his home. Huffman documented Native people, landscape, and the explorers and settlers of this dramatic, rough-and-tumble place and time. His work is included in the J.Paul Getty Museum and Art Institute of Chicago collections, among others. I am including a link to Huffman’s wiki page for those interested.
This platter is large enough to anchor a buffet table, and compelling enough to use for display only, if you prefer. The photograph is reproduced with clarity and nuance. Although the photo is authentically antique, the piece is contemporary and both microwave and dishwasher safe. I see no conditional issues at all. Just a beautiful piece of Westernalia for your collection or home.
