    Lot of 5 Vtg. Summer Girl Jelly Jars H.D. Lee Mercantile Advertising Collectible - RARE
    ~ Pre-owned in very good overall condition. No cracks or chips.
    ~ Jars measures about 4 1/2" tall x 2 3/8" diameter across the top.
    ~ JARS
    ~ #1 -- Original Pure Apple Raspberry Jelly label fell off in its newspaper wrapping during storage; It is in good condition but does have wear and damage; Embossed "Ball", "6", "906".
    ~ #2 -- Original Pure Apple Grape Jelly label fell off the jar, it was found inside; It is in rough condition, torn, damaged, and rare; Embossed "Ball", "6", "906".
    ~ #3, 4, & 5 -- Have no labels and one of the lids is different; Embossed "Ball", "906", and one "10", another "4", and the last "1"

    ~ In 1889 Henry David Lee founded The H.D. Lee Mercantile Co. in Salina, KS and soon became the major food distributor between Kansas City and Denver. Later the product range was expanded to include sales of notions, furnishings, stationery and school supplies. In 1912, The H.D. Mercantile Co. opened its first garment factory making work wear and hence the Lee Jeans brand was born.
    ~ My sister and I thought this was an interesting find that we discovered in the attic of my late husband's 1893 childhood home.
