    Description

This book was published by A.S. Barnes & Company in 1957.  This hardcover is 8” high by 5-½” wide, it has xi + 264 pages + 32 pages of photos and has a frontis.
This book is in Near Fine condition, there is an offset stain on 2 pages from a piece of paper left between them, otherwise it is a very nice copy.  The Dust Jacket has a short tear down the spine and some light edge wear, still nice.
From the Dust Jacket:  “Pat Smythe has jumped her horses in almost every major show from Madison Square Garden to Madrid, including the 1956 Equestrian Olympics in Stockholm, and in turn has garnered most of the awards.  One Jump Ahead might be called an around-the-world-on-a-horse account of some of her experiences. … Sometimes serious, sometimes humorous, Miss Smythe’s reminiscences are always lively.  …   Pat Smythe is acknowledged to be the greatest horsewoman Britain has produced - indeed it can be claimed that no other country can beat her in the show-jumping arena.”
