    60
    years old
    History of American Saddle Horses
    by the late
    J.H. Ransom
.  Published for only “1” year.  It was a follow up to Susanne’s
    Famous Saddle Horses
published in the 1940’s.  It includes sires such as Wing Commander, Rex McDonald, Stonewall King, Genius Bourbon King, Vanity.  Each horse has a picture and his or her story is told in a very easy to read manner. Some of the most beautiful photographs are here.  Selecting the pictures to include here was really hard since 12 is the maximum number I can show….. Book Is in MINT condition.
The George Ford Morris pictures are too numerous to mention but so Magnificent…..
    Farms Included:
Barlite Farms, Daneshall Stables, Minton Hickory, Old Stone House Farms, Rainbow Farm, Robin Hill Farm, Willisbrook Farm, Winganeek Farm,

Sire ratings from 1932-1961:  The top 4 stallions of each year are profiled here.
This is by far one of the
    rarest
    saddle horse books ever published.

.  Joan Gilbert writes a full article about
    J.H. Ransom
.  (1893-1964) She talks about his 14 volumes of Who’s Who in Horsedom.  He wrote “Short Snorts” owned Horse World Magazine, worked for Kentucky Horseman in the 1930’s, then American Horseman and Saddle & Bridle in the 1940’s.  Joan talks a lot about this book in her article.  I’ve got a number of his Who’s Who books listed this week.
This is a must have for the serious saddle horse collector.
    Great picture of
    My Major Dare
    with
    John T. Hook
riding. That was when he worked for Longview Farm.  My Major Dare was born in 1906.
Nice picture of the great mare

I hope it's appreciated that I take the time to list the horses in "Alphabetical" order with the rider/trainer
