Schwalbe aims to offer the ideal product for every cyclist. High-end bicycle tubes proved to be an exciting challenge. Schwalbe's engineers had to combine seemingly opposing features: the lowest weight, and highest puncture protection. Developed in cooperation with BASF and with experts from the German plastic manufacturing industry, the Schwalbe Aerothan tube emerged to not only meet all the requirements of a high-end bicycle tube, but to exceed them.
At only 41 grams, the Aerothan weighs in at roughyly
half
of a standard butyl tube, and features almost twice as much puncture resistance. Made from 100% thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), including the valve, the Aerothan tube is also completely recyclable.
