This is a wonderful hardback book with dust jacket, Shannon, by Barbara J. Berry, illustrated by Victor Ambrus. Copyright 1968; first printing. Book in overall fair/good, well-read condition. Hardback book with dust jacket. Ex-school library book with normal marks and stamps. Card pocket in front ; Plastic protector sheet over dust jacket and DJ end papers have been taped to boards. Overall book shows tight binding; pages show some tanning due to age. Stain mark at top edge corner of last 3 pages (189-191); pgs. 55 and 79 have turned corners as if to mark place in book. wear and tear on edges, corner and spine of book and dj. (please see photos). Story set in 1850 about a family who sells their Irish-bred Thoroughbred stock to move across the country to Oregon. Keeping only their stallion, Shannon, and one mare, the horse is stolen during the journey. Great addition to your collection.
