VINTAGE 1950'S BIG TOP PEANUT BUTTER CLOWN METAL LID COVER for HAZEL ATLAS GLASS

Offered here is a vintage "Big Top" Peanut Butter metal lid that covered/sealed the product in promotional glassware produced for the manufacturer by Hazel Atlas Glass Co. during the 1950's. The retail customer not only purchased the popular peanut butter brand, but received it in a reusable, sanitary beverage glass! This vintage collectible depicts a circus clown in the bright, primary colors of red, blue, & yellow. The Big Top peanut butter product was offered by W.T. Young Foods of Lexington, Kentucky. Big Top was continued under Proctor & Gamble's production and later replaced by the new product JIF; which still sells today! This lid measures just 1/4" tall & 3-1/4" in diameter.  Condition is excellent! No rust or missing paint. Some crimps or dents from where a bottle opener was used to unseal the glass for consumption of the peanut butter. Fantastic piece to add to any collection or nostalgic setting!
