Up for auction is "The Wizard of Oz Coloring Book", a small promotional 12 page (including covers) coloring book, printed in March, 1955, by Swift & Company, as a promotion for their Oz Peanut Butter, that came in glass jars.  The front cover depicts the four main characters plus Toto on the
Yellow Brick Road
, with the
Emerald
City
in the background, while the back cover depicts seven glass containers of peanut butter.  The front end-paper depicts three additional containers, while the back end-paper has a place for a child to write their name, age and address.  Inside of the coloring book are pages to color, along with a brief recounting of the story of The Wizard of Oz.
The soft cover book is in great vintage condition, with no missing pages, no writing or coloring on any of the pages (with the exception of a price, in pencil, at the top of the front cover), and minimal soiling and wear.  However, there is a 0.5 inch tear to the bottom of the front cover; a scrape near that tear that does go through the paper;  a small diagonal chip to the upper outside corner of the rear cover;  and a 1.5 inch split to the spine at the bottom which does impact all of the pages.  In addition, all of the internal pages have browning to them due to age.  This fragile and rare piece is very difficult to find in this condition.
